What is a weighted blanket?

  • A blanket that is heavier than normal which is weighed down by tiny, quiet glass beads.

  • It provides the feeling of being hugged, cradled, and grounded during sleep. As a result, the body releases feel-good hormones that create a feeling of relaxation.

  • It helps improve the quality of sleep by helping you get to deep sleep faster and stay there longer, therefore; keeping you from tossing and turning, and or waking up in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.

How to wash

  • Machine wash on cold, gentle cycle
  • Tumble dry, low heat
  • Do no iron or dry clean

Is it safe?

  • A weighted blanket is generally safe for healthy, physically abled adults.
  • Children, elderly, or the very ill should not use a weighted blanket.

What is a good size?

  • A personal sized blanket for single person use is best, that way you get the full benefits of the entire blanket.
  • A weighted blanket should be at least 7-12% of your body weight.

    • You may add a duvet cover to provide a cooling effect if you sleep warm, its summer time or if your house is warm.
    • If its cold then just add a warm duvet cover to provide you with the warmth needed to sleep comfortably.

Who can use a weighted blanket?

Literally anyone! Except for infants, toddlers, children and the very elderly. If you cannot remove the blanket yourself you should not be using it. However, if you do not fall within these parameters, you can use the blanket!

Anyone can use the blanket for any reason, even if you don't suffer from any kind of symptoms, the weighted blanket can be used just as you would any regular quilt, sheet, or comforter!
